Do you ever feel like you are talking to yourself?

I have my days. I blog with 10 followers (whom, by the way, I appreciate immensely!!!) My kids, my dogs, and my husband are all perfectly normal so I frequently feel like I am talking just to make some noise. Oh, well, if it's going to happen that way let's at least make it a joyful noise! I got a little decorating done in my glamper. I focused on my little bitty kitchen.

I have to admit to cheating a little here. I know everything is supposed to be either thrifted or home made but when I saw those coffee cups at TJ Maxx I just couldn't help myself. They are just too perfect! I painted an old towel rack black and hung it on the wall. The cup hooks are actually clear shower rings dressed up in grosgrain bows. These make it easy to use the cups and won't scratch them up like an "S" hook would. The canisters on the mirrored tray were all bought at Goodwill (as was the tray itself)  and sprayed gold with some Michael's bracelets around the tops for extra bling.  It's not easy to see in the picture but on the stove behind the knobs I used a  product I found on clearance at Michael's in a leopard print foil. The were out of the required adhesive so I just used plain old glue. . I did peel off the original stickers and glued them back on over the new foil. I love how it looks and really hope it lasts.

I have finally collected all of the fabric and foam I need for my upholstery. Fabric selection in the valley is very limited and foam is super flipping expensive. It took a trip to Denver and some online shopping but it is all in one place at last, So my next post should be all about cushions (and maybe a pillow or two). See y'all next time!

Base Layer of Outside Paint

Now y'all know I wanted a little shabby chic glamper. A super sweet little love to tow behind my truck on all my nonexistent adventures. I looked at this...

So flipping precious!!!! But not quite me.  Then I looked at this...
Squeal!!! Cuteness overload but again it says "someone else".

So I looked and I longed,
I pinned and I pined,
I searched and I, yeah, okay you get the picture.
I was looking at stuff everyone else had already done, hence the reason they all looked like they should belong to someone else.  Kudos to the owners of these little ladies, BTW, they are amazing!!!

A little bit of looking at what I had and what I loved and this is the new exterior of my beauty.

She is a delicious combo of hot pink, gold, black, and white. I have to add her name yet and her pin up lady (which I also have yet to choose for the same reasons!) but I am sooo happy with what she is becoming.  She was a hit on the highway with lots of waves and pictures by passer-bys. If you want to see a "before" pic check out the post on our first glamp here.

This one shows the colors a little bit better...

First Glamp

Well we rolled her out for the first glamp. It was NOT very glamorous. We forgot the music. We forgot the POTTY! Yes, it's sad but true.

This was the posh potty of our weekend. Sigh. So much went wrong but at least she rocked her roll down the highway! Do you remember her when?

Not super cute. Kinda overdue for some fresh lipstick. But a few days in the salon and
VA VA VOOM!

She is all pink and gold and fabulous! She did cause quite a stir going down the highway. She posed for some photos and enjoyed all of the attention. This is just the first layer. She still needs her pinup and her name but she sure is feeling sassy!

Glamper Karma digs me!!!

I have been working so hard on my little glamper that she decided to show me a little love in return.  Around the stove there were two truly terrible plexiglass sheets screwed to the wall with the most hideous wallpaper crumpled behind them.  I have been avoiding dealing with them because I just knew the walls were going to be so bad back there and I was wrong!!! Ever happened to you? Happened to me and I couldn't be happier! That meant I could do more "subway tile". Happy dance!!! I cut more tile and slapped it on the wall...

See, it looks like foam sheets stuck to the wall (if that doesn't make sense go back here.) . Sigh... Lots of paint and lots of caulk and viola!
A complete backsplash.  We are cooking with gas now, baby. I don't know if it will be ready for the reunion next weekend but here's hoping!

I am sharing this week.

The Wisconsin House

If you saw the before pics of the Wisconsin house, I thought I would post a few of the afters.

Wisconsin was just a stressful time for us, We made lifetime amazing friends and our church was so awesome that our 5 year old swears that God lives there! The job started out great and went south in a hurry. The Hubs tried so hard not to bring  his job home with him but when they are messing with your safety and your livelihood it weighs on you. I am so grateful this new opportunity presented itself. He is a much happier man and it shows everywhere. God is good!

Pinterest. Seriously!

I hate Pinterest. I ADORE Pinterest! I seriously can waste hours out of my day. It is ridiculous. All of the shopping- none of the credit card bills!  My husband kind of likes the recipes. Tonight I turned my feet blue with a Listerine foot soak. So Sexy!

But some days you catch an image you just cannot live without. An absolute MUST HAVE!!! Like this...

Who's life wouldn't be better with a pink flipping phone booth in it? I just gotta have one! So while you are asking yourself "what does this have to do with the glamper project she promised us?"

You know those REALLY ugly closet doors that come with the travel trailers? I don't have one of those any more!!!! It started raining and I had to move it inside the trailer in a hurry and messed it up a little bit but it is fixable and I am getting super excited to show you everything all put together!

See a little messed up but
WAHOO!!!!!

Tile My Tiny Kitchen!

My little Trailer has more flipping issues than an episode of the Kardashians!  I am not into other peoples problems but I am totally into solving all the fun little tidbits left behind by years of neglect.

First up we have replaced the roof vents and sealed the roof with a rubberized coating. Just a word of caution here; make sure your hair is secure. if this gets in your hair and dries IT DOES NOT COME OUT! so...

Okay, So it wasn't quite that bad. I did have to cut about two inches of the bottom of my braid. I have really been babying my  hair along to get some length so this was a major frustration for me.

Now I have to decide what to tear out and what to prettify! Around the kitchen window was a little damage but not bad and certainly not bad enough to tear out. I started out painting it but that was not making me happy. I don't want just okay I want fabulous! I want subway tile, and while the weight doesn't concern me overly much in this tiny area, the movement does. What to do, what to do?

Do it anyways!!!  I worked this over in my head and decided that the movement wouldn't be an issue if I made my own subway tile! Tile that would weigh nothing and be flexible. Can you guess what it is? (humming the theme song to Jeopardy!)

If you guessed Sticky backed foam sheets, you are GOOD! I measured them out, cut them with an Exacto knife, and slapped them on there. They looked like sticky backed foam stuck to the wall. But then I painted and caulked them and I am thrilled!

I am already on to the next project and hope to show that off tomorrow!  Thanks for joining in on the fun!

About Me

My photo
I'll try any thing once... upholstery, stained glass, paint, whatever. If I don't know how I will make something up or if that fails I take a class. I think if you stop creating, you get old, and I am just not going there!
